Mr...The response from Mr. Gowdy.

February 1, 2012

Mr. Joseph Bush

Dear Mr. Bush:

Thank you for contacting me about United States Attorney General Eric Holder. I appreciate hearing from you.

As a prosecutor for sixteen years, I have taken a keen interest in the investigation into Operation Fast and Furious. This flawed program allowed guns to "walk" to Mexico, guns that were eventually used in the murder of a U.S. Border Patrol Agent.

I serve on the House Committee on the Judiciary and Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, both of which have held hearings on the inception and execution of Fast and Furious. After the Judiciary Committee hearing with Attorney General Holder on December 8, it has become abundantly clear the Attorney General has done a poor job leading the Justice Department. As the chief law enforcement agent in this country, he is responsible for the actions of his department, including Operation Fast and Furious. Therefore, he should resign his position so the Department of Justice can begin to regain the trust of the American people.

Thank you again for contacting me, and please do not hesitate to do so in the future. It is an honor to serve you and the Fourth Congressional District.

Sincerely,
Trey Gowdy
Member of CongressJoehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02655057050080994342noreply@blogger.com
